Guide to Common Rail Injector Issues
Diagnosing injector issues can be difficult however over the next few weeks CDSA will be discussing common problems and what may cause them. Please note however, it is always best to seek professional advice and talk to your mechanic.
Is your vehicle displaying signs of poor performance or emitting black smoke?
When looking at your injector this may appear as combustion residue on the outside of your injector and/or sealing ring is compressed on one side.
Possible causes may be; the injector is incorrectly installed (tightened or twisted on one side), no sealing ring or inadequate tightening torque when installed.
